THE ROLE

Kanga Coolers is seeking an Independent Wholesale Sales Manager to oversee and expand our independent wholesale channel. This role will be responsible for managing our existing network of independent multi-line sales reps, recruiting and onboarding new reps in open territories, and directly managing key accounts.

Our independent wholesale channel sells primarily to boutiques, surf shops, gift shops, outfitters, and other specialty retailers across the U.S. In 2024, this channel generated over 7 figures in revenue, and we have reasonable goals to grow it in 2025—If you're ready to take ownership of this channel and drive growth, this role is for you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Manage & Grow Our Independent Wholesale Channel

  • Oversee and support our current team of independent multi-line territory reps across various states.

  • Identify and recruit new sales reps in territories where we currently lack representation.

  • Ensure reps are aligned with Kanga’s sales strategy and provide them with the necessary tools and support to succeed.

  • Attend 6-8 trade shows around the US with our Events team

Own & Manage Key Wholesale Accounts

  • Serve as the primary account manager for “house accounts” (wholesale accounts not covered by independent reps).

  • Build and maintain relationships with boutique, surf shop, and specialty retail buyers.

  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and increasing order volume from existing accounts.

Execute Wholesale Sales Strategy

  • Work closely with the leadership team to refine and execute our wholesale growth strategy.

  • Provide sales training, resources, and performance insights to ensure all reps and accounts are maximizing their potential.

  • Track sales performance, forecast growth, and hit revenue targets in the independent wholesale channel.

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

1–2+ years of experience managing a sales team, preferably in the beverage, consumer products or wholesale industry.
✅ Proven experience working with independent sales reps, distributors, or multi-line rep groups.
✅ Strong understanding of wholesale account management, particularly in specialty retail channels (boutiques, surf shops, gift shops, outfitters, etc.).
✅ Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
✅ A results-driven mindset with the ability to hit and exceed revenue goals.
✅ Prior experience in sales forecasting, CRM tools, and managing a pipeline of wholesale accounts is a plus!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

💼 Compensation: base salary + bonus + commission on wholesale revenue from the independent wholesale channel.
